The first ever Alumni Achievement Award will be presented to a Yeshiva alum. at this year's Dinner of Honor. We need your help to nominate up to three of your former classmates for this special recognition.
The first reunion organized by the Alumni Association occurred on
November 28th and Novermber 29th with about 80-100 alumni and guests attending. Over $700 of the funds collected from the reunion were donated to the Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Here's what took place:
-On Friday night, Rabbi and Mrs. Estreicher opened their home and hosted a
terrific oneg for his former students. Alumni who attended spanned a wide range of graduating classes-- from 1987 until 2003. People caught up with old friend and met new ones. Alumni particualrly enjoyed looking at old yearbooks that the Estreichers have at their home.
On Saturday night, the men's alumni team beat the Yeshiva boys team and the women's alumni team lost by 1 point to the Yeshiva girls team (note
however, the women's team was partially comprised of Yeshiva team
members...we have our pride!) Both were close games -- noteworthy was Rivka Monheit's noble injury in the first 3 minutes of the game.
We look forward to annual Alumni/Student basketball games in the future...
Thank you to the many alumni who helped with the reunion. The following alumni assisted in planning the reunion: Sharon Feingold (reunion co-chair, class of 1992), Rivka Monheit (reunion co-chair, class of 1992), Deborah Kloder (class of 1997), and Joey Wilson (class of 1993). A number of alumni helped on Saturday night during the basketball games and the reception, including Sharon Feingold, Deborah Kloder, Jenne Jacobson (class of 1992), Vita Zeltser (class of 1997), and Alex Pivoshenko (class of 1997). Matt Leader (class of 1991) and Eli Monheit took photos at the Reunion reception and basketball games. |
